North Yorkshire, 1954. In this quintessentially British mystery drama, confusion reigns when the final train of the night fails to arrive at a rural railway station. As the passengers begin to worry, matters take a turn for the worse by the sudden death of one of the patrons. With an apparent traitor in their midst, a rift emerges between the station's occupants. Upon discovering the telegraph poles to be cut, the enigmatic station master Mr. Braithwaite speculates the night's curious events are not so coincidental. Along with the respected Capt. Underhill, he hatches a plan; but Rosa, the head strong coquette of the troop has other ideas. It's not long before one of the commuters is established as a wanted criminal and is pitched as the suspect by Mr. Hopkins, the jocular yet inebriated son of a high-brow politician. Inspired by Arnold Ridley's classic ensemble play, "The Ghost Train", socialite Lady Elizabeth and her suitor James uncover the beginnings of a sinister plot; it's up to them and cheeky Irish traveler Riley to unravel the mystery.
