High school senior Emma Robbins is unenthused with life in her quiet, small beach town. Her relationships with both her alcoholic mother, Gwen, and boyfriend Sean leave her feeling unfulfilled; so much so that she carries out a secret relationship with a handsome, mysterious (and ultimately dangerous) suitor, Miles.
