Segue o Baile (2017)

The band Bixiga 70 is the subject of the documentary by Rubens Crispim Jr., which portrays the symbiosis between the music produced by the group and the elevation effect it causes in people. Based on images of the public and interviews with experts who study the duality between dance and trance and its effects on the human brain, the film explores the highly contagious and danceable way of the sound of the format set by nine musicians. The influences of the many musical genres that make up the style are themes explored in the film, which reveals the universal character of the group. Closing the conceptual tripod of the work, the production shows how the horizontal management of the ensemble and the collective making of the songs contribute to the uniqueness and success of the group.
