Wenn aus Angst (2016)

In order to leave the past behind and readjust their life, Cecilia and her husband Miika moved to an isolated and run down retreat in Tuscany. Cecilia is pregnant and still trying to cope with her mothers suicide. Seeking for stability she is willing to trade her independent, modern urban life for becoming a housewife. But it soon turns out that Miika and Cecilia have entirely different ideas about their new life together. After accepting a job in Florence Miika gets increasingly drawn into his work as an artist. Cecilia at the same time enters a dark world of fear, jealousy and loneliness which appears even more haunting through the strange new environment. Instead of pursuing a life together, the couple's relationship turns into a downward spiral of emotional violence and neglect. As Miika finally leaves the house to visit his clients, Cecilia tries to kill herself. Miiika returns just in time, but the couple's problems, however, are far from being solved.
