More than four decades ago, fishermen with their boats were driven across the bay due to the expansion of Port Burgas. A fishing village of unclear status emerged with over 2,000 villagers. With the fall of communism in 1989, parvenus and the powers that be built up enormous edifices pressing even further a third generation of 'unlawful' villagers. Neither Parliament nor any of the cabinets would find solutions to their problems. Regardless of their 'illegality' though, the one and only morale of Burgas' down-and-outs with their innate inability to cede to meanness of life was never low.
