Giro Tondo (1994)

Daniele, a young writer, and Alice, his woman companion, move to a very particular apartment building in the early 1900's. Daniele gradually finds out about the tradition-curse of the building: ever since the building was built, whenever a baby is born, a man - inexorably - dies.
