Stages (2015)

Stages follows one man's emotional journey in one night, from sunset to dawn. Each song sung in the film corresponds to one stage of grieving -- denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. These stages manifest as people that the protagonist, Matthew encounters. Each new person pulls him into the next emotional state while singing that stage's song. He travels through an alley, a bar, a rave, a cemetery, and more, ending up in a tranquil forest by a waterfall. Matthew, suffering from a broken relationship, finds his own mental and emotional strength to carry on, and by the film's close, looks toward a hopeful future.
