Norman (John Brodsky), is a passive bookstore owner that keeps cassettes from a girl, Elena (Maya Wynant). The girl was his high school crush that mysteriously disappeared, leaving behind many unanswered questions. Elena created her own radio show, which she created daily shows discussing various topics. Norman was frequently the guest on the show to talk about the magical stories he would write. Over the years, Norman has stored the cassettes in his bookstore. Pained by his past, he rarely listens to them and even keeps the tapes a secret. However, a lonely boy, Brendon (Strummer Kellet), visits the bookstore and stumbles upon the dusty cassette tapes on Norman's desk. He persistently asks Norman for the story about the girl. Norman tells him pieces of a story, but Brendon is unsatisfied without an ending. Brendon's constant curiosity paired with his solitude reminds Norman of himself, which compels him to revisit the cassette tapes. Norman is forced to explore all the fading memories of Elena and discovers there was one cassette tape missing from the collection. Clues on the cassette tapes lead him to his old high school to find a storeroom that Elena recorded her radio shows. The storeroom reveals the final cassette, which Norman has never listened to. Returns to the bookstore and Norman is able to finally end the story. As he tells his story, his reality and memories merge together. Norman finally has gained the courage to close the longing chapter of his life and preserve Elena's memory through his new magical story.
