My Eyes Adore You (2017)

My Eyes Adore You is based on four vignettes by Hawai'i writer, Lois-Ann Yamanaka, entitled My Eyes Adore You, Ravine, Empty Heart, and Name Me Is. The four vignettes revolve around the first love between, Lucy and WillyJoe. Lucy does not understand what love is because she comes from a broken home, a mother who never wanted kids and a sister who couldn't care less about her. The only person in Lucy's world is Lucy until she meets WillyJoe. He becomes the only person she can trust. He leads her down a rabbit hole of love, something that no middle school student should go through but Lucy doesn't know any better to say no. They are young and naïve and this tunnel vision of love blinds them to the opposition. This short film wis filled with the rich pidgin language of Hawai'i and it will also capture the beautiful valley landscape of the island of Oahu. Which will reflect the beautiful yet disturbing love between Lucy and WillyJoe.
