Roach (2016)

A horror-love story that takes place in Tel Aviv under threat of a nuclear war, between Penny; a lonely young girl who spends her time glued to the screen and the disturbing news, eating or sleeping, and Izzy; her mysterious and shy neighbor who peeps at her through the window. In their first encounter Izzy saves Penny from a cockroach who climbed her leg in the middle of a central square in the city. Penny is frightened and disgusted by the strange guy who does not recoil from touching such a revolting creature. Over time the two start drawing close to each other against the background of the approaching war and Penny sees hope in Izzy and starts to develop feelings towards him, but this romance is interrupted by a mysterious explosion in Izzy's apartment which leaves no sign of him. Penny sinks into depression and goes back to awaiting the inevitable end, until a troublesome cockroach invades her apartment and continuously disturbs her peace. Penny decides to exterminate him at all costs.
