Verräter (2017)

The police officer Martin is on duty in 1988 in the DDR as the corpse of Johann Schöis retrieved from the Baltic Sea. To all appearances, we was shot to death attempting to flee the DDR, but martin finds holes in this theory. Not much later, the victim's husband is also found dead, apparently a suicide. AT this point the STasi takes over the case, but Martin continues to investigate on his own. He soon finds himself enmeshed in a web of political intrigue, which also involves foreign intelligence services.
