Martha (1986)

Lady Harriet is bored and with her friend Nancy goes to the fair under assumed names (Martha and Julia) for a diversion and fun. The fair is where country girls hire out for a year of labor. Unwittingly Lady Harriet and Nancy get themselves hired out and now wish they had not played this game. Lady Harriet's boring cousin rescues them, but now Lady Harriet is blue for she misses the one farmer who later runs across her and because of their different stations in life, she rejects him as if she had never met him before. He gets taken captive by the queen's guards but at the last minute remembers a ring is dying father gave the family who took him in before father died. He is an orphan and by adoption has this family. Anyway, the ring is taken to the queen and they find out he is the son of a wrongfully exiled nobleman. The properties and wealth is reinstated by the queen. Martha goes back to tell him the news but runs into difficulty.
