Greta and Chrissie haven't seen each other since they were roommates at college, fifteen years ago. Now they're subletting an apartment in New York together - but just for the month of November. The man they're renting the apartment from -- Professor Alfred Caine, a teacher of Cinema Studies - turns out to be somewhat of a dodgy character: he deliberately returns from his stay out west a few days earlier than expected. And that's when things get really strange...
