Stan has a fish stall in Leicester market. His life is in crisis, his business and his marriage are failing, even the lads who work for him take the piss. There is barely enough money to pay the rent, wages and stock costs. When he finds the bank shut and can't pay in the day's takings he is confronted by his father's ghost who appears in the window of the off-licence. The temptation is too much and he breaks the promise he made 20 years before. A broken and now drunken man, Stan returns to the empty market and we see him begin to eat his cash - after all - money - you can't take it with you.
