Magpie (2018)

Through the eyes of Lily (Hannah Morrish), a housewife and nurse during World War II, Magpie delves into the vast changes in the physical, social and cultural landscape of East Anglia in the early 1940s. Lily and her husband George (Matt Downton) fight with overcoming the devastating effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder but become increasingly separated and volatile. George becomes isolated and unable to return to his normal life at home following his experiences on the front line. As she struggles to understand George's condition, Lily finds an escape in the comfort of a new friendship with American Serviceman Charlie (Mateo Oxley) whilst George remains confined within their home, growing ever more paranoid and disconnected from their marriage.
