The tragic legend of La Petenera haunts flamenco for generations. The songs evoke a mermaid, a heart-broken woman, a young beauty asking for revenge and bringing doom on all men. Her power is so strong that to this day, when it is performed, gypsies cross themselves and leave the room. The guitarist Pedro Soler and his son, the cellist Gaspar Claus, decided to go to Iceland to record it, far away from Andalusia. Inspired and intrigued by this story, the two directors Colin Solal Cardo and Robin Lachenal followed them and filmed a mystical and musical quest, where fantasy borders on real life. From the heat of flamenco to the roughness of Icelandic winter, looking for La Petenera.
