Trailblazer is an inspirational visually stunning Short Film directed by Linus Herbig-Matten. All of our decisions today are influenced by fear. We grow up with an anxiety of making mistakes about our future. Fin would rather safely study business than explore what he really wants to do in life. But his life changes when he meets the renegade Elle. A young woman striving to explore life in a new exciting way. When she decides to run away into nature Fin has to make the biggest decision of his life. To be reunited with her, he needs to start an incredible journey into a new life. This film draws from influences somewhere between "Into the Wild" and "The Tree of Life." As a director, it is very interesting to explore the fears of people and the tensions this can create on screen. Every person has their own motivations to pursue their future, but for the ones who are too scared to make decisions, sometimes it takes a push from other people. Without the persistence of Elle, Fin would have never been able to leave everything behind. Fin is an ordinary young man who dared to leave his comfort zone to discover his true purpose in life. The films essential question is: How did we all become so scared of life?
