Inarguably, the use of the internet has contributed a lot in shaping our modern societies, mainly because of the ease to directly interact with others, its anonymity, and the freedom of speech. For the first time, everyone could express their views and ideas on a mass scale through the ever-growing social media platforms; however, are there any boundaries in the digital world? After receiving a life-threatening message from a stranger who targeted her for her views, the Parisian social media enthusiast, journalist, and activist, Rokhaya Diallo, decided to take action. But, who hides behind an outbreak of racism, sexism, violence, and hate against public personalities and common people alike? Is censorship the solution? With the internet being just a magnifying glass of the conflicts inside our societies, isn't it high time we fought the online intransigence, extremism, bigotry, and the ideas that undermine our very existence?
