Helene (2016)

A young woman comes home late in the evening, changes from work into home attire and follows her everyday routine. She eats dinner, relaxes, attends to skincare, prepares for bed. Each day Helene tries to achieve perfection in everything she does, every detail matters, no matter how seemingly insignificant. Each day is ended by a moment in front of the mirror, a moment that is to confirm the day's success. Helene's apartment is both her sanctuary and site of permanent self-assertion and scrutiny. Inside is home, inside is safe, inside is like a warm cell where you can make yourself disappear in the walls.
