"Gay version of John Hughes' teenager hit movies in the 80's" "A doubtful mix of 'Carrie' and 'Pretty in Pink'? Incredible as it may seem, the recipe goes well" "A work on homophobia, school bullying and gender prejudice" "A poetic movie about the youth's romantic ideal" "A work that defies the paradigm of romantic love: after all, is it really necessary to find your better half to be happy?" "Prom night" is all of that. And more: this short film is the new work by São Paulo moviemaker Lufe Steffen, who became nationwide coming-of-age in 2016 with his second full-length film, the documentary "Sao Paulo in Hi-Fi" ( launched in movie theaters in several cities and capitals all over Brazil, and released in DVD in the second half of the same year ). After making this full-length movie ( succeeding the director's first feature film, also a documentary called "Freak Night Fever in São Paulo" ), Lufe Steffen returned to the short-film format in this new work.
