Substance use appears to be greater than 90% of the film's run time, with intoxication being a cornerstone of the central character's and many of his friends' lifestyle. This is essentially completely played for humor, except when associated with a motor vehicle accident.

Drunken/stoned behavior and impaired judgement for other reasons leads to various accidents. Some of these are frightening, but most are not.
