The Apache Kid, a U.S. Army Apache Scout, known to the Americans as the "Kid" was legendary for his tracking skills and many of the military owed him their lives. Yet in a fateful moment living in two worlds, while carrying out justice in his own tribal tradition, he was taken through the justice systems of the Americans - the military court martial, the federal Indian agent process and the local territorial court. Exhaustion of the courts' processes and exhaustion of patience with white man's justice, led the Apache Kid to make his most famous stealth escape, never to be arrested again, despite the record-high reward offered for his capture. This documentary explores the actual court martial case through the authentic never-before-published trial transcript with expert commentary from military lawyers, the military law historian, and perspectives from the descendants of the Apache Kid.
