SHE'LL BE RIGHT is a quirky take on the oft-told tale of a struggling actress in the city of (broken) dreams. Its title is a well-known Aussie colloquialism, meaning "everything will be all right." The comedic short features droll conversations between an LA-based Aussie and her forthright Singaporean mother. Through a mishmash of fictional and candid footage, the semi-autobiographical film offers a hilarious glimpse into the life of an offbeat gal with a penchant for ice cream. The film is partly romance, partly an elegy to its alluring East Los Angeles setting, and partly a pragmatic mother's "I-told-you-so".
