'It's not the spirits who haunt us most' 19th century American North is ravaged with despair as people loose their loved ones to Civil War. Many turn to religion, spiritualism and clairvoyants to find solace. Esther Green, an acknowledged medium, goes out of her way to bring hope and joy to the clients while, Hannah, her daughter, assists her. As Civil War takes more lives by the hour, Hannah decides to leave Esther and volunteer, however, she is afraid to take the last hope away from her mother, who has fallen into depression and lost all belief in brighter future. How can you give hope to others if you are stripped off it yourself?
