Remain (2017)

Steve has been preparing for this moment for his whole life. As he sits in front of his makeshift computer, Steve grapples with the emotions that he has pushed aside for the last few weeks to finish his work. Now, in the final moments before launch, Steve breaks down. His daughter will be leaving a dying earth without him, and it's the only choice he has. His co-worker, Craig, has secured a seat, and has promised to look after her. Now alone, Steve says his last goodbyes. He steels himself for what is to come, and imagines what his short and dreary future will be like.
