Painkiller

Alan Gesic, born in the 1980's, the product of cross community love affair that couldn't be allowed to exist in troubles struck Belfast, had his parents violently taken from him at a tender young age. To our hero, the troubles are not a civil war, they are a real, living, breathing monster personified by a few key shadowy figures who pull the strings of their puppet assassin's from the relative safety of their ivory towers. To Alan, this monster must be slain at all costs. Even if that cost is his own life. But unawares to Alan, he has a cult following among the youth of Belfast. The cos-players, the comic book fans, the sci-fi and fantasy aficionado's, who have taken him into their hearts as their very own local superhero, and follow his every move through a network of internet blogs and chat rooms. Alan has no idea that his world is about to be turned upside down when his neighbour and greatest fan-girl Penny uncovers his true identity.
