Waiting for Europe (2016)

Waiting for Europe tells the journey of different people until they reach to a continent they never have seen - A Chinese girl inhabits an isolated island - There she picks up the stories of different refugees and migrant people who try to cross the Mediterranean sea and get to Europe. . Then we know other stories of real refugees from Kurdistan, Senegal and Colombia who are stranded in the same island, waiting for the arrival of Europe. They all say they have seen her and they are sure that, by any means, it will appear in the island, but it never shows up. While waiting for Europe, the refugees tell to each other their own stories and some others they have heard on their way to the island and, at the same time, they imagine how the desired Europe will be. Waiting for Europe is a poetic and black humorous film about one of the most frightening issues of the recent history: the continent that created human rights, now kicks out foreigners who are willing to reach it.
