In the United States, at least 91 people die everyday from an overdose to opioids, including prescription painkillers and heroin. The ripples of these deaths linger in the memories of those who survive, and those who they leave behind. This is where Who We Are begins. It takes us on an immersive journey through the aftershock of the opioid epidemic in the suburban Southern California cities of Simi Valley and Agoura Hills. This immersive experience takes the viewer into the lives of people left in the wake. Who We Are is an intimate and meditative portrait of life, loss, and hope through the eyes of parents who have lost a child to Heroin, and three other families experiencing different stages of grief after being thrust into the world of the opioid epidemic, an American crisis.
