Langsaan (2017)

1976. The child lives in a world that she creates for herself in an imaginative way, away from the knowledge of her parents' relentless efforts toward a better future and the terror reigning in the country from which her family has just returned. A mother who guards her family's progress to become the buffer between her husband's ambition and her child's safety acts against her own conviction. A part of the child's inner world exists next door, where her grandfather and grandmother live and work. Somewhere between playing in the leafy suburban garden, staying out of the way when it is critically necessary and the creative space of Granny's needlework room a quiet dream lives deep within her.
