The Gaspé Peninsula is a mass of land that juts into the cold waters of the St. Lawrence Gulf. The sandy beaches, steep cliffs and sea form the landscape of this ecosystem which is one of the richest on the planet. Gannets plunge into the sea by the thousands. The tern with incredible skill, catches sand eels that frequent the edge of the sandbank where it nestles. And while underwater, two rock crabs clash; outside, a cormorant plunges his entire head into the throat of one of his parents in search of his meal. Whether near the coast or beneath the surface of the water, life is staged near the camera, close to the shore.
