Ben Schore grew up outside of Boston, knowing that he had to support himself and save for his college education by forming the Ben Schore Orchestra while still in high school. He became a successful businessman in real estate and in retirement has made it his mission to award creative financial grants to young artists and musicians throughout New England. Now in his early 80's, Ben struggles with the encroaching challenges of Alzheimer's. Kathy Rines, 15 years younger and his partner for many years, shares Ben's passion for art and music, along with his well-established generosity toward gifted individuals seeking to pursue their artistic goals. As with many Alzheimer's patients, Ben's short term memory is shaky, but before his medium and long term memories faded further, Kathy wanted to make a film about this man's extraordinary life story, and the life they had together. Eventually, this insightful, entertaining profile will become part of their lives, bringing back Ben in his prime. Hearing his own words, he will know who he is, who he was and how his lifelong philosophy of "giving back" has defined his legacy. The result is a most unusual and inspiring love story.
