"Shelter Me: In Times of Need" is the eighth film in this inspiring project that celebrates shelter pets and the people who help them. We feature an innovative shelter program where Alzheimer's facilities foster abandoned kittens. This partnership with the Pima Animal Care Center (PACC) in Tucson is a model of life-saving for the rest of the country. More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's. This relationship with memory care centers shows how companion animals can comfort those afflicted and help bring people together to create positive change. We also introduce a new segment that shows the joy in adopting a family pet. And we feature Beyond Fences (formerly Coalition to Unchain Dogs), an organization in Durham, NC that honors people's love for their pets by providing resources - veterinary care, wellness supplies, fences and more - to underserved communities. This is also a story about people living in poverty and how offering support, not judgment, can impact a community. These stories will inspire others across the country to reach out in their community, build relationships and serve more people and pets. It's a revolution of kindness.
