The Motley Sea: A Short Film about Love and Loneliness (2015)

Jay (Wes Alvarez), a young man struggling with depression and loneliness, finds himself in a world of humdrum bleakness. One day the girl of his dreams, Rose (Diana Martinez), happens to sit down next to him in the park. As their friendship blossoms, Jay's world becomes less and less bleak, only to be crushed again when Rose ends up getting a boyfriend. Jay's mood constantly shifts up and down as he continues to put all his happiness and mood dependent on one sole person. He refuses to listen to anyone else, even his best friend Alayna (Jolene Stewart), who continues to try to help him out of his state of depression. After many months of bipolar mood swings and tension, Jay finally decides to tell Rose how he really feels, where he must finally decide whether his happiness is all in on Rose - or, if there is a whole other world of color waiting to be explored.
