Color Matching (2016)

Color Matching takes place in October 2016 along the Iraqi Peshmerga frontline at the beginning of the offensive to oust the Islamic State jihadists out of Mosul. While embedded with the Peshmerga battalion, the artist tries to "match on small canvases the colors of the scenes (he is) witnessing in an attempt to coincide with the moment (he is) living-this is the abstraction of war within the spectacle of combat".
