On January 23rd, in an unprecedented form of resistance, young people from Menzel Bouzayene, soon joined by others from Sidi Bouzid, Rgueb, Meknessi and all corners of Tunisia, marched towards the governmental headquarters in Tunis and settled in a sit-in at the Qasba square. They had one demand: dissolving the provisional government and electing a constituent assembly. Following a week of disinformation and smear campaigns the government decided to forcibly dismantle the sit-in.
