Planchette (2018)

Set in the late 80's, this short film explores the emotional bonding between a human and a spirit. The protagonist Bhootnath has a very close relationship with a neighbourhood middle class family, a simple minded couple lily didi and Binoy Da. One day in fun mood Lily didi and friends decide to do Planchette ( call spirits and question them) by calling the cousin sister of Lily didis mother in law Monika and ask her about her missing notebook. Unexpected events occour during the planchette session where the spirit overpowers bhootnath and tells Lily di to find and immerse the notebook. Moreover Lily wants to know about her child's future but is left with questions. Four years passed by and One day Bhoothnath, who shifted to Kolkata to study found out that Lily Di had died unexpectedly. When he returns, he hears rumours that the spirit of lily di is seen everywhere and people are horrified. One night Bhoothnath experiences Lilydis spirit at his house telling him to do some work for her so that her spirit can attain peace. Bhootnath does as per Lilydis advice and the bonding of love can be felt. Even Ghost need friends.
