"Manjrachey paach jeev (Cat of five lives)" was triggered by a line in a poem which went "You can give flowers to someone, but what they do with them, is entirely up to them". In the film, Birju Manjre is a young man, who has nothing better to do than be a pest to his parents and a general menace to society. But the only good thing that he ever did, was sign an organ donation form at his friends behest. He, in his death, succeeded in making a difference to 5 lives, 4 of them vital and his eyes improving the quality of life of an older man. The film is a realistic appeal to everyone, to donate their organs, hoping that it can do some good somewhere and make a difference to someone's life no matter how small. The name of the film "Manjrachey Paach Jeev" (Cat of Five lives) is a take on the phrase "Cat O' nine lives" which refers to the extraordinary ability of cats to survive through bad situations that would have killed others. Cats are said to have multiple lives. In the film, Birju Manjre(Cat), though loud, obnoxious and reckless in real life, lives on within other people, through the organs he donated.
