As yet another year is drawing to a close, Sophia finds herself meandering through festive Athens, trying to find a place to belong. Someone once gave her Hector Malot's 1878 novel, Sans Famille, as a gift. Was it one of life's cruel ironies? Either way, in this faceless world, we spend most of our mundane lives struggling to be understood, and to fit in; however, more than anything, lonely Sophia longs to be loved. Is there still time for her when it's the last day of the year?
