A Bright Second considers the ubiquitous problem of ageism in the most appropriate setting possible: the Sunshine State. Exhausted from several years of mediocre jobs and fruitless online dates in L.A., Cecilia, a 34-year-old artist, finds herself living and working in Florida. Trained in fine art photography, she now spends her days shooting beach weddings and contributing to postcard-perfect tourism magazines. Her sidekick and best friend is Dot, a 74-year-old artist, who echoes back to 60's intelligentsia. Despite the doubts of their friends and families, Cecilia and Dot manage to bridge the vast generational gap with a graceful, and at times awkward, ease.
