Kristina grew up in the biggest Croatian sanctuary of Saint Mary called Marija Bistrica. Everyone around her are Catholic, expect for her. Even though Croatia is a secular country, it is also a place where religious textbooks in schools describe atheists as fools, the minister of education doesn't believe in evolution, while children - instead of getting stuffed teddy bears - get stuffed Saint Marys. Even the public broadcaster, where Kristina works, is becoming an extended hand of the Catholic Church. Kristina is sick of the hypocrisy and decides to 'come out' as an atheist. But as life always writes the best stories, Kristina ends up falling in love with a Catholic. Kreso lives in Austria and Kristina decides to leave Croatia and move in with him. Her parents, still recovering from a recent discovery that their daughter is an atheist, now have to survive another one: Kristina doesn't want to get married, especially not in church. Love comes to the test. Kristina needs to make a decision: will she risk their love and disappoint her parents; or be a hypocrite and give in? Everyone believes this is just a transient phase and that 'the lost sheep' will eventually find her way back to the flock.
