Concorde test flight 820 crashes somewhere in the Atlantic killing all of its small crew aboard, the plane's whereabouts unknown as air traffic control lost communication with the plane before the crash. What the public does not know is that it was sabotage by Milland, a wealthy industrialist, who is in competition with Concorde for the emerging South American market. He ends up being blackmailed by a group in the Antilles who have evidence of the plane's location in the waters, discovery of such which would prove the sabotage. In addition, they also have captive Jean Beneyton, the female flight attendant who survived the crash, photographs they take of her proof they know the plane's whereabouts. While the news media among others are scrambling for information to be able to cover the crash, hack New York based reporter Moses Brody is summoned to the Antilles by his ex-wife Nicole telling him that she has information to a major story that could reinvigorate his career, he unaware that it is tied to the Concorde crash. He eventually does learn such, his problem being trying to convince anyone in authority of what he learns. As he digs deeper with the blackmailers willing to kill to keep the plane's location a secret, they don't know that Milland is planning to sabotage another Concorde flight, this one with paying passengers, as the first crash did not deter commercial interest in the Concorde.
