Train Station Pickups (1979)

This film combines a serious polemic against drug use, particularly heroin, with a sex farce. The two categories merge by showing people of various ages and both genders prostituting themselves to get money to support their habits. Most of the scenes of nudity and sex are lengthy and well-lit, not quick dark glimpses. Sexual genital contact is not seen. Most lead characters portray high school students of uncertain class year. The lead female high school student, Petra, is played by Katya Bienert, eleven years old during filming per a fanzine interview in the mid-2000s. Much female nudity is full frontal and rear. Petra is seen topless, but in panties so thin her pubic hair is clearly visible. Male nudity is infrequent and only shown from the waist up, or with genitals hidden.

Several people watch a woman in a peep show. We see her fully nude from all angles, contorting and caressing herself, including quick passes over pubic hair. Other nude women are seen in the dressing room.

A woman who speaks of having performed quickies is pimped by her "boyfriend" in increasingly abusive ways. A line of men wait outside a rocking travel trailer; inside a man has sex with her. We only see her tearful face. Pimped to a customer in a brothel, a man completely undresses her, fondles her, and then is implied to begin coitus. Other women are seen fully nude in the brothel.

Adult male couples and female couples are seen at a gay bar. An adult woman flirts with Petra and quickly runs her hand over the girl's clothed breast. A male high school student picks up an older man there. The two guys go to the man's apartment.

Five female students are fully nude in a shower scene, and evict a male student who intrudes. A girl is shown topless on a couch in a party, and guys lick and suck whipped cream off her breasts. A guy undresses a girl in her room and caresses her breasts while reading from a sex instruction manual. A girl and a guy are locked in a room together and end up having sex; we only see them above the waist and thrashing beneath the covers.

At a club, a nude woman (full frontal) and a nude man (genitals blocked) ride on a wheel that displays them to the crowd.

Several scenes show Petra topless and in thin panties, awakening, conversing, or hugging her boyfriend, Mick. In other scenes, she kisses Mick on the lips a couple of times.

Scenes in a gym class linger on girls' breasts. Some girls are obviously not wearing bras under their shirts, and some nipples are faintly visible. The (male) teacher touches a couple of girls' butts while providing exercise "instruction." Conversations indicate this isn't the first time.

A teacher finds an injured girl in the shower, and carries her to another room, and fondles her thighs.

As a prank male students cause a girl's blouse to open as she stands, revealing her breasts.

A girl walks in on her mother and a man kissing and cuddling; they're fully clothed.

Male genitals are visible on a classical statue seen from across a room.

A newspaper emphasizes that a man who was killed was a homosexual.

A man is hit in the head with a metal object and is knocked unconscious or worse.

A woman is pimped by her "boyfriend" in increasingly abusive and demeaning ways. We hear not-so-veiled threats; depictions of force are limited to his steering her by the arm.

A girl slaps a rude man's face.

A man slaps a younger guy silly, he falls down.

Cops break down bathroom doors, demanding to see people's identification (it's Germany, 1978). They manhandle an addict caught in the act of injecting heroin.

Very infrequent, as English dubbed on the Desert Island DVD (the same source is used on Amazon Video).

A bar is said to be filled with "queers and bull-dykes." Other slurs include "fag," "fairy," "queen," and "bitch." Otherwise maybe three uses of "shit" (one referring to drugs) and a "damn." Inferior booze is described as "moose piss."

High school student Mick's heroin addiction is central to the plot. We see in detail how Mick prepares heroin and injects it. We also see him snort a line of white powder.

In voiceover, several people talk briefly about the circumstances or events that led to their addiction. Some look dazed, most look normal. Gateway drugs, including weed, are indicted as leading to heroin use. One woman laments prostituting herself to support her habit.

A man is shown dead on a bathroom floor, syringe nearby.

Supporting a habit is one reason that a woman is repeatedly prostituted.

A character is shown going through withdrawal, sweating, thrashing, moaning, and puking.

Several drug buys are shown. At a flop-house, a strung-out addict is seen.

Multiple needle marks are seen on the arms of a couple of addicted characters.

We hear and later see a parent distraught that her child is missing, unaware of the arrest for drug use.

Money is stolen from a family member to support a friend's drug habit.

Many students are shown consuming a variety of alcohol at parties. At one, Petra drinks too much and passes out.

Cigarettes are smoked by adults, by high schoolers -- one student smokes a cigar -- and by one group of boys and girls who look like middle-schoolers.

A pimp's coercion of a woman might distress some viewers. An addict's withdrawal misery is unpleasant but only shown briefly.
