The King of Comedy (1982)

PG (US) | USA | English | 109 min
Directed by: Martin Scorsese
7.7

In this Martin Scorsese film, Rupert Pupkin is an aspiring comedian with big dreams of fame and fortune. Obsessed with Jerry Langford, a late-night host, Rupert believes that appearing on his show will lead him to fame. When his insistence to meet Jerry is rejected time and time again, his obsession translates into a disturbing plan to kidnap him. The film reflects on the blurring boundaries between reality and fantasy in a very visceral and terrifying story that is also a biting social satire.
