The Mysterious Castle in the Carpathians (1981)

In 1897, in a castle near Werewolfville, the eccentric Professor Orfanik experiments with inventions such as television and the motion picture camera (ignoring all sorts of anachronisms). Passionate about opera, he keeps the body of his favorite diva in a crypt of the castle. To scare away the curious, his assistant creates creepy phenomena that feed the sinister fame of the place. This work is a jewel of Czech fantasy, inspired by a novel by Jules Verne, combining madness and imagination in an intriguing setting.
