Storyline:  A black soldier is murdered while returning to his base in the deep South. Suspicion first falls on local white residents, but a determined black army attorney is assigned to uncover the truth. Through flashbacks, the dead soldier’s complicated life and unpopularity are revealed. As the attorney investigates, he must navigate prejudice, deception, and the murky realities of military and local politics to identify the real killer.
