Louise... l'insoumise (1985)

There are three daughters in this Jewish family who has settled down in the Parisian suburb in early 1961 (coming from Tunisia).The mother is tyrannical and her family unit is an inward-looking community:the girls must not see French.The elder,Vivianne ,is resigned to her fate.Gisèle,the youngest, is not aware of her situation.On the other hand, Louise ,the middle one, watches TV on the sly and discovers the forbidden world .This is the life she wants to live ,even though she has to clash with her mom.
