María Eugenia Alonso, almost a woman, still an adolescent, returns from Europe to impose the light of her reason on that of her old house, a temple of boredom, where, as in the ancient and moist churches, the old smell of traditions and race floats. From the very beginning, María Eugenia proclaims very highly her independence of spirit and her firm intention to be guided by clear and logical ideas. She tries to reject an order in which she does not believe and which imposes absurdities: confinement, boredom, sanctimoniousness and prohibitions opposed to her desire to live. On one side, freedom, passion, love without commitment and, above all, life. On the other conformism, security and stability, respect for the rules and the ensuing social recognition. Thus, between her honorable grandmother and a crazy uncle, between an adventurous passion and a conventional marriage, María Eugenia is embroiled in an overwhelming love triangle whose dangerous consequences depend on her already prostrate determination and that will relentlessly decide her destiny. Ifigenia is the first film produced under the "School Film" system by the Central University of Venezuela and Director Iván Feo.
