Coupe-franche (1989)

In the Pyrénées mountains,Pierre manages a sawmill set up by his father-in-law, Mathieu,twenty years ago.It's not really a going concern:financial problems abound, the working men become demoralized,and Pierre's marriage is on the rocks;His big hope is a ski resort project ,which could boost the firm. A man ,François, comes back to his native mountains to find a job in the sawmill.He has an affair with Marie,Mathieu's daughter and Pierre's wife.The lovers feel guilty and contemplate leaving the place.
