The Vanishing (1988)

A young couple, Rex and Saskia, are on a holiday in France. During a stop at a busy rest area, Saskia vanishes without a trace. Rex, driven by love and obsession, spends the next three years desperately searching for her, haunted by dreams of a golden egg that Saskia once described. Mysterious postcards from her abductor lure Rex into a chilling game, leading him to confront the twisted mind behind the disappearance.
