Fried Green Tomatoes (1991)

Evelyn Couch, an unhappy housewife, meets Ninny Threadgoode, an elderly woman in a nursing home who shares with her stories from her past. In particular, she focuses on the story of a friendship between two women and the strange circumstances surrounding the murder of the husband of one of them. An engaging film that combines melodrama, comedy and moments of intrigue with superb performances, making it a huge box-office hit in the '90s.
